Planning Board Minutes 6/28/07
June 28, 2007 Minutes

Members Present: Maggie Leonard, Cindy Hoogs, Brian Puntin and Laurily Epstein.

Meeting opened at 7:02 pm

WE discussed getting a grant from the Highland Communities initiative.  We would like money for the master plan. We reviewed the guidelines for applicants.  Maggie volunteered to followup on the application process.

Carol Edelman – asked about the status of the Jaffe Barn.  She had called Maggie.  Maggie said she would return her call.

We received two building permit rejections from the Building Commissioner:
1.      40 Beartown Mountain Road, Howard Leavy

2.      Crotty on Woods Lane Drive. Non-conforming lot

June 14, 2007 minutes were read, Maggie made a motion to approve, Brian seconded, all in favor.

The May 24, 2007 mniutes (prepared by Jason) were not discussed or approved as we did not have a copy of them with us.

We discussed the timing of legal notices in the Berkshire Record.  The Record comes out publically on Fridays.  Therefore we would need to notice a hearing three weeks before the hearing, and not the two weeks we have done in the past.  Cindy asked if we can publish in the Eagle and was told that the Eagle is too expensive.

We discussed the cell tower bylaw. Maggie said that she would look at the reports generated at the time the cell tower bylaw was passed, to see if any other sites in Monterey were recommended for a cell tower (other than Mt. Wilcox).  Cindy suggested that the bylaw itself may still be a good bylaw.  The only thing that might need to be added is some additional cell tower locations.

The bylaw that was passed at town meeting regarding the 200 foot setback for educational uses was passed by the Attorney General’s office.

We discussed briefly the common driveway bylaw and proposed revisions.  We decided the wait on an in depth discussion until next meeting when Alan could be at the meeting.  Alan had suggested a number of changes to the bylaw.

Meeting adjorned at 8:20 pm.
